5th Annual Warrior Benefit Sporting Clay Tournament Gallery

Warrior Benefit

March 23, 2013

The Warrior Benefit is comprised of Houston – area Soldiers and Marines wounded in combat after 9/11 who come together each Spring and host a Sporting Clay event. Proceeds of this event are then donated to charities that have helped them and their fellow wounded brothers and sisters in the past.

As a token of the deep appreciation for all that Impact A Hero has done and continues to do for all our heroes and their families every year, the Warrior Benefit is pleased to donate $30,000 again in 2013, bringing the total donated to Impact A Hero since 2011 to $90,000.

GoRuck Endurance Run

IMG_1353February 2, 2013

Matt Rios takes the GORUCK Challenge, an 8-10 hour / 15-20 mile event inspired by the Special Forces soldiers, led by Green Berets. The Challenge pushes participants through conditions of mental & physical exhaustion as they carry a 40-pound backpack filled with bricks, supplies and food. Training requires months of practice – he will train at least 5 days a week and by February, will have ran over 600 miles.

Matt is running to benefit Impact a Hero, while he also served 4 years in the Army, Matt wants to continue to serve by supporting fellow men and women fighting to protect our freedom, as well as honor his fallen brothers.

Deep Down Hero Clay Shoot raises $26,000!

Dear Captains,

Thank You very much for you and your teammates for the strong support and participation in the 1st Annual Deep Down Hero Clay Shoot. Without your commitments, our event would not have been as successful. Because of your contributions, we were able to donate $26,000, and provided a fantastic day of camaraderie for our Wounded Heroes and fellow Oil Field Patriots.

We had a sell‐out year with 41 teams participating. Fierce and friendly competition brought out everyone’s “A” game.

Another round of applause to the team winners:

Master Team – Hercules Offshore
AA Team – FMC
A Team – Hornbeck
Warrior Team – Gargrave

We also want to thank the team at Westside Sporting Grounds: Laurie, Dan, Adam, Kitty, and crew. Their attention to detail and support made for a very smooth rotation.

Thank you again from all of us at Deep Down, Inc. Your support and participation led the way to a successful event for Impact a Hero (for more information, visit: www.impactahero.org ) and all our wounded heroes. We look forward to seeing you again for the next event!

A heartfelt thanks goes out to all of our sponsors. Your support and generosity made the day a success.

Sincerely,

Michael Butler

2012 Hero Ride Donation Exceeds $20,000!!!!

John Prazynski, father of LCP Taylor B. Prazynski, KIA2005/Iraq, proudly displays this year’s Hero’s Ride donation check to Impact a Hero. Now in it’s ninth year, the Hero’s Ride based in Fairfield, Ohio, is an annual motorcycle ride and event that remembers and honors our hero’s and demonstrates our support for the troops.

A special thank you to our hard working volunteers. Without your efforts none of this would be possible.

This year’s donation is made in memory of Tom and Stephanie Bobinger who were killed during the wind storm of 2008 while insuring the safety of those participating in the ride.
We honor and remember – We will never forget your sacrafice.

Santa’s Poem

Santa’s Tear
They came to me on a special night,
battered and torn from a vicious fight,
men, women, and officers too.
Believers all, in the red, white and blue,
they had spent their past in a circle of fear,
and inside Santa’s eye there developed a tear.
Not a tear drop Santa wanted to hide
but one restrained for the solider’s pride.
For they came not to me in fear or in fright,
no, for sure, not on this special night
their journey to Santa was one of joy,
and remembrance of family and the manger boy.
So out of hospital beds they all came.
Some limping, some rolling
and all dealing with pain.
I saw smiles on their faces as they got near,
and held tighter and tighter to that tiny tear;
for my truest heart feelings really did lay
with the soldiers courage and love of the great u.s.a.
