The 2005 Impact A Hero Weekend in the Greater Houston Area was the beginning of a grass roots effort by Impact A Hero to provide a network of much needed continuous emotional and financial support services to our wounded heroes. In addition to making a tax-deductible donation, you can also help in one of the following ways:

Impact A Hero Emotional Support.

In this program wounded heroes meet their athletic and entertainment heroes. Moreover, our wounded heroes are also introduced to stadium crowds before professional sporting and entertainment events.

Impact A Hero Emergency Financial Aid.

Many of our wounded heroes and their families need immediate financial support. Mortgage, rent, handicap accessible retrofits and food are some of the needs that are wounded heroes have for emergency financial aid. Please click here to see a letter of support from President George H. W. Bush.

Impact A Hero Holiday Support.

In this program we produce Christmas and holiday parties for our wounded heroes at Walter Reed, Bethesda Naval Hospital and Brooke Army Medical Center. Our program partner is Dave and Busters.

In my particular case and point of view, the real hero is my wife. Although she did not shoot a bullet in the line of duty, she battled on her own to keep our family together, to be my caregiver and the mother of our daughters. I believe that when a Soldier goes to war, the Family also goes to war. When a Soldier is wounded, the Family is also wounded.
